Short term:

- Further development of our advanced Lagrangian random particle dispersion model which represents a very valuable tool for research and applications of atmospheric and dispersion processes over complex terrain.
- Further development and applications of the real time air-quality modeling with advanced web applications.
- Improvement of prediction of atmospheric and dispersion processes in complex terrain and over the ocean by using Four Dimensional Data Assimilation techniques.
- Investigation of air/sea interaction, wind stress, and the curl of wind stress in coastal regions.
- Development of methods of interacting model simulations on different grid resolution scales.

Long term (3-5 years):

- Form a research team to integrate atmospheric and dispersion models of various complexity.
- Integrate emission models into atmospheric and dispersion models
- Participate in multidisciplinary studies of ocean ecology including oceanic, biological, and atmospheric processes.
- Conduct and coordinate a study integrating modeling and observations of cloudiness and fog development in a Lagrangian framework of reference along the US West Coast.
- Further development of methods of interacting model simulations on different grid resolution scales with computer links to other computer centers in the US and abroad.
Integrate air quality modeling into exposure modeling and risk assessment.
